American hard rock group Guns N’ Roses was founded in 1985 in Los Angeles, California. The original lineup was vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler when they were signed to Geffen Records in 1986. In the current band, which also includes keyboardist from the Use Your Illusion era Dizzy Reed, lead guitarists DJ Ashba and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, lead and rhythm guitarist Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, drummer Frank Ferrer, and keyboardist Chris Pitman, Axl Rose is the only surviving original member. The group released six studio albums, selling more than 100 million copies worldwide, including 45 million copies in the US.
