Barbie Girl Lyrics Song by Aqua

Dance-pop group Aqua’s song “Barbie Girl” is a Danish-Norwegian collaboration. The group’s debut studio album, Aquarium (1997), featured it as the third single, which was released in May 1997. Sren Rasted, Claus Norreen, René Dif, and Lene Nystrm wrote the song, and Johnny Jam, Delgado, Rasted, and Norreen produced it. Rasted was inspired to write it after visiting a Danish kitsch culture exhibit that included Barbie dolls. The song dominated the charts all over the world, especially in European nations like the UK, where it remained at the top for three weeks. It spent the same amount of time at the top of the Australian charts as well. On September 6, it made its US Billboard Hot 100 debut and peaked at number 7.
